چکیده
Land Use/Land Cover (LULC) changes alter the ecosystem structure and function, resulting in variations of Ecosystem Service Values (ESVs). This study investigated impacts LULC on ESVs over 37 years Cherangany Hills Water Tower (CHWT) Kenya. Landsat images from 1985 2022 were used to examine historical CHWT. Supervised classification was carried out using Random Forest (RF) classifier R-Studio while ArcGIS desktop software for mapping evaluate changes. Accuracy assessments also conducted each reference year. The estimation done Benefit Transfer Approach (BTA), employing modified local value coefficients. Six types (Forest, Cropland, Grassland, bodies, Bareland, Built-up area) successfully classified, with overall accuracies more than 92.5% Kappa coefficients greater 0.91. Our findings showed an expansion built-up areas (201.63%), cropland (36.78%), water bodies (40.05%) whereas grassland, forest, bareland experienced a reduction their land by 28.26%, 13.38%, 24.15% respectively between Consequently, there increase ESV forest grassland registered decrease ESVs. Overall, total CHWT declined 7.16% 121.22 million United States Dollars (USD) year 112.54 USD 2022. As individual ESVs, 15 17 Services (ES) negative Food production biological control two ES positive period. There is need curb current drivers within tower, especially croplands, stop further degradation optimum delivery ES.

Impact of land use and land cover changes on ecosystem services in Menglun, Xishuangbanna, Southwest China.
Changing the landscape has serious environmental impacts affecting the ecosystem services, particularly in the tropics. In this paper, we report changes in ecosystem services in relation to land use and land cover over an 18-year period (1988--2006) in the Menglun Township, Xishuangbanna, Southwest China. We used Landsat TM/ETM and Quickbird data sets to estimate changes in ten land use and lan...

The impacts of land utilization change on the ecosystem service values in Daqing during 1995 to 2015 were analyzed based on unit area ecosystem service value of Chinese territorial ecosystem from Mr. Xie Gaodi and ecosystem service value calculation formula from Costanza. Results showed that the ecosystem service value of Daqing decreased from US $4343.1559m in 1995 to US $3824.327m in 2015, wi...

Land use/cover change is one of the main factors in environmental changes. The changes directly affect the value of ecosystem services. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the effect of land use/land cover change in the Kashkan area on its ecosystem services. This research was carried out in three stages, including the analysis of land cover changes, prediction of changes, and carbon st...
متن کاملLand Use/Land Cover Change Modeling and the Prediction of Subsequent Changes in Ecosystem Service Values in a Coastal Area of China, the Su-Xi-Chang Region
Monitoring the impact of current Land Use/Land Cover (LULC) management practices on future Ecosystem Services (ESs) provisioning has been emphasized because of the effect of such practices on ecological sustainability. We sought to model and predict the impacts of future LULC changes on subsequent changes in Ecosystem Service Value (ESV) in fragile environments undergoing complex LULC changes, ...
